সুখী জীবনের রোড ম্যাপ!

টেমস নদীর পাড় । পড়ন্ত বিকেল, আজ বিকেলটা খুব সুন্দর । কেন জানি মনটা আজ বেশ ভালো। বসে আছি আমরা কয়জনা। চেয়ে আছি আমি দিগন্তের শেষে। টেমসের পাড় ঘেষে চলছে হরেক রকমের নৌ যান। আকাশটাকে ও আজ কড়া নীল্ দেখাচ্ছে। হরেক রকমের মানুষ আমাদের পাশ দিয়ে যাচ্ছে-আসছে। মজার বেপার হলো লন্ডন এ ১৩০ দেশের মানুষকে পাওয়া যাবে। কত যে জানা অজানা দেশের মানুষের সাথে মিশার সুযোগ হয়েছে। নানা জাতির মানুষের স্বভাব ও সংস্কৃতি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন। খোদার দেওয়া দুনিয়াটা আসলেই সুন্দর। আমরা কি আসলেই এই সুন্দর পৃথিবীটাকে সত্যিকার ভাবে অনুভব করতে চেষ্টা করি ? আসলেই আমরা অনেকেই করিনা। আমরা নিজেদের নিয়ে , নিজেদের আভিজাত্য, অহংকার, প্রচার নিয়ে এতটাই মোহগ্রস্ত যে, সেটাকে পৃথকভাবে ভাববার অবকাশ হয়ে উঠেনা। না চেষ্টা করি জীবনের অর্থ খুঁজে পেতে, না চেষ্টা করি জীবনকে বুজতে । আসল ও নকলের পার্থক্য আমরা অনেক সময় পরখ করতে জানিনা। মোহ, নাম -যশ, প্রতিপত্তি, ঐশ্বর্য, বিলাসিতা আমাদেরকে পিছিয়ে দেয়, অনেক অনেক দুরে - জীবনের সত্যিকার উপলব্ধি থেকে। অনেকেই নানা ভাবে জীবনের প্রত্যাশা খুঁজে পেতে চায়। সুখ আসলে কোথায় ? সে এক বিশাল প্রশ্ন ? মনীষীরা অনেক ভাবেই এর উত্তর দিতে চেষ্টা করেছেন তাদের লেখায়। 

Albert Schweitzer জীবনের সুখ কে খুঁজে পেয়েছেন আরেকভাবে। তাঁর মতে
" I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will really be happy are those who have sought and found how to serve."

লিও টলস্টয় জীবনের আনন্দকে, পাওয়া না পাওয়াকে , সুখী হওয়াকে সঙ্গায়িত করেছেন ভিন্নভাবে - তাঁর মতে
"Just imagine that the purpose of life is your happiness only- then life becomes a cruel and senseless thing. You have to embrace what the wisdom of humanity, your intellect and your heart tell you: that the meaning of life is to serve the force that sent you into the world. The life becomes a joy."

বিষয়টা হছে পছন্দ-অপছন্দের। বাস্তবিক জীবনের সব কিছুই পছন্দ এবং ভালো লাগা কেন্দ্রিক। মানুষ সব সময় ভালোটাই পেতে চায়, ভালোটাই খেতে চায়। সব নিজের জন্য। অন্যজন পেল কি পেলনা , খেল কি খেলনা কেই বা খবর নেয় ? নিজের পছন্দের বেপারে কেওই ছাড় দিতে চায় না। সুখটা তাহলে কোথায় ?

এর উত্তর আমরা উপরের মনিষীদের কথার মধ্যে অবশ্যই খুঁজে পেতে পারি। জগত বিখ্যাত বিজ্ঞানী আইনস্টাইন বলেন-
" How many people are trapped in their everyday habits: part frightened, part indifferent? To have a better life we must keep choosing how we are living " 

কথা বলছিলাম টেমস নদীর পাড়ে তিন বন্ধু মিলে। টমাস, ক্রিস্টিনা এবং আমি। তারা দুজনেই আমার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় জীবনের প্রিয় বন্ধু। বিচিত্র মানুষ আর কত বিচিত্র মানুষের জীবন। একথা সেই কথা থেকে বিষয়টা গড়ালো জীবন এবং প্রত্যাশিত সুখ বিষয়ে। টমাস, জীবন ও প্রত্যাশা প্রসঙ্গে বলছিল - 

Life is really short. This is the time to raise your standards about what it means to be a person, to show the world who you really are. And if not now, then when?
It is so easy to fall into the trap of a mediocre life. If we don't take charge of our lives and act on them, our lives have a way of acting on us. And then the days slip into weeks, the weeks slip into months, and the months slip into years. Before we know it, it's all over. I think it was Nietzsche (Philosopher) who challenged to stop living life as if it were a thoughtless accident. We need to captain and pilot our lives in new directions if we desire meaningful success. We need to develop better habits and think bigger thoughts.

তার কথাগুলো খুবই তাত্পর্যপূর্ণ। প্রকৃতপক্ষে অনেকাংশেই স্বভাব আমাদেরকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে। আমাদের খারাপ স্বভাবগুলোর প্রভাব আমরা অনেকাংশে বুজতে বিলম্ব করি। আমরা বুজতে পারিনা আমাদের মধ্যে ধীরে ধীরে একটা খারাপ মানুষ বসবাস করতে শুরু করে। এই খারাপ মানুষটার জন্ম আমাদের সঙ্গ , পরিবেশ , অপশাসন , অনিয়ন্ত্রিত জীবন ব্যবস্হা , সামাজিক কলহ, পারিবারিক কলহ , অশিক্ষা , দারিদ্রতা , সংস্কৃতিক বিপর্যয় , কৃষ্টির অপ-ব্যবহার প্রভৃতি নানাবিধ উৎস থেকে । বেপারটা হলো এইরকম - The chickens always come home to roost, and the salmon always return home to spawn.

ক্রিস্টিনা এই প্রসঙ্গে বলছিল - Actions always have consequence- always. Do good things for yourself and others in your life, and good things are certain of bad habits, and you're bound to pay the price. No matter what you might try to kid yourself into thinking, chickens always come home to roost.

প্রশ্ন হলো আসলে এই খারাপ বিষয়গুলোর উপর কার নিয়ন্ত্রণ বেশি ? Body or Soul? তার মানে হলো আমদের মন নাকি ব্রেন ? শরীরকে কিন্তু নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে ব্রেন। সাম্প্রতিক বৈজ্ঞানিক গবেষণা বলছে -the electromagnetic field created by the human heart is actually 5000 times more powerful than the one created by the human mind.?

তার মানে হলো আমরা যা করি, যা দেখতে পাই - তার সবই সত্য নয়। যেমনটা রাজনীতিবিদরা করে থাকে। যা দৃশ্যমান তা সত্য মনে হলেও আসলে অনেকসময় তা মিথ্যা। কাউকে একটা ভালো উপহার দেওয়া হলো, কিংবা ভালো করে দামী রেস্টুরেন্ট এ খাইয়ে দেওয়া হলো, কিংবা সামনা সামনি অনেক অনেক প্রশংসা করা হলো - বুজতে হবে আসলেই সব কি অন্তর থেকে নাকি ব্রেন নিয়ন্ত্রিত শরীর এর কিছু উদ্দেশ্যপূর্ণ কিছু কর্ম । সুখী হওয়া বা ভাবা আসলেই এই মন বিষয়ক বেপারটার সাথে সংশ্লিষ্ট। ক্রিস্টিনার একই মতামত। 
ক্রিস্টিনার মতে - It means that no matter how smart you are, you can't fake caring. you can talk the talk all you want, but unless you're genuinely devoted to helping your clients/people and making their lives better, they won't do business with you - they will sense that your're not genuine. Success in business comes down to trust. People need to trust that you want to help them. If the trust is there, your services will sell themselves.

Hmm, yes; Christina you absolutely right, In reply I said: life is short, do not forget about the most important things in life, living for other and doing well for them. We are not on the planet all that long. Why not make our time here enjoyable by enjoying the people around us? Get good at conversations.

Christina replied why you meant 'conversation'?

Well, I replied - one of an essential lessons I've learned along my path is that a great life is nothing more than a series of great conversation. Remember; to have more in the world, you must give more to others. It's just one of those timeless laws of life.

জীবনের উদ্দেশ্য শুধু একা নিজেকে সুখী করা নয়। অন্যকে সুখী করার মাধ্যমে নিজেকে সুখী করা। শুধু নিজের জন্য সুখ খোঁজা অনেকটা স্বার্থপর এর মতো । আমরা যদি আমাদের একক স্বার্থ চিন্তা না করে জগতের মানুষের কথা , অন্তত আমার আপনার প্রতিবেশীর কথা, গরিব আত্বীয়ের কথা ভাবি, তাদের দুঃখের দিনে সত্যিকারের সাহায্যর হাত বাড়িয়ে দিই , তবে আমি মনে করি পৃথিবীটা আসলেই সুন্দর হবে, আমার আপনার জীবন হবে সুন্দর। সুখ আসলেই সেখানে। কথা হচ্ছে এই সব নীতি কথা কে শুনে বা ভাবে? আমি মনে করি আমরা যত বেশি শুধু নিজের সুখ আর সফলতার জন্য পাগল হবো, সুখ সবসময়ই আমাদের থেকে পালিয়ে বেড়াবে। একটা না পাওয়ার হতাশা আমাদের যন্ত্রণা দেবে। ভাবতে হবে সুখ এবং সফলতা  অঙ্গআ - অঙ্গী ভাবে জড়িত। আর সেটা অন্যর কল্যাণের সাথে জড়িয়ে আছে? মানে হলো যে সেবা আপনি কাউকে দিচ্ছেন,কিংবা যে পণ্য আপনি বিক্রি করছেন সেটা কি মানুষের কল্যাণ এর জন্য? উপকারের জন্য। সেটা কি কোনো ক্ষতিকর কিংবা মানুষের অপকারের জন্য ? আপনার চিন্তা এবং মননের মধ্য এটা যদি কাজ করে তবে আপনার সফলতা এবং সুখ আপনাকে খুঁজে নিবে, আপনার থেকে পালিয়ে বেড়াবেনা। The fact is -you will be happy in your life in direct proportion to the degree to which you will be helpful to the world.


হেলেন কিলার কে আমরা সবাই জানি যে কিনা একজন দৃষ্টি প্রতিবন্ধী ছিল - প্রায় বলতেন - "The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but has no vision" আমাদেরকে অবশ্যই জীবনের আসল মানে এবং লক্ষ্য বুজতে হবে। যত বেশি এই সত্য কে বুজতে চেষ্টা করা হবে, যত বেশি মনের সুন্দর ইচ্ছা গুলো হৃদয় এর সাথে মিশিয়ে দেওয়া হবে তত বেশী সুখী ও সফল হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা সৃষ্টি হবে। মাদার তেরেসা বলতেন - "Let everyone sweep in front of their door and the whole world will be clean"

গতকাল এখানে(লন্ডন) নির্বাচন হলো। কাউন্সিল নির্বাচন - অনেকটা আমাদের সিটি কর্পোরেশন এর ওয়ার্ড কমিশনার নির্বাচনের মতো । না আছে দেয়াল লিখন, না আছে কোনো পত্রিকায় ভোট চেয়ে বিজ্ঞাপন , কিংবা কোনো মিছিল , মিটিং। হা আছে তা হলো এলাকার বিভিন্ন জনকল্যাণ মূলক কাজে নিজেদের অংশগ্রহন, গণসংযোগ, এলাকার সমসসা নিয়ে কথা বলা। এই সব। এবার মোট ভোটের পার্সেন্টেজ ৪৩% এর খুব একটা বেশি নয়। অথচ আমদের দেশে ভোটের সময় একটা হই হই অবস্থা । অনেক টাকা খরচ করতে হয় প্রতিজন candidate কে। ভোট কেনার জন্য কিংবা শক্তি প্রদর্শনের জন্য। যার ফলে জনকল্ল্যানের আসল উদ্দেশ্যই বিনষ্ট হয়ে যায় । রাজনীতি জনকল্যানের জন্য না হয়ে ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে ক্ষমতা দখলের কিংবা কতৃত্ব স্থাপনের হাতিয়ার হিসাবে। এই অবস্থায় বাংলাদেশ এ সুস্থ গণতন্ত্র আসবেনা কখনো। ইংলান্ডে একজন এমপি সরকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিদর্শনে আসলে এক কাপ চাও খাওয়ানো হয়না সাধারনত । আমার মনে আছে লন্ডনে এক এমপি তার বরার (constituency) একটি লাইব্রেরি তে স্হানীয় জনগনের সাথে তাদের সমসসা নিয়ে আলাপ করতে এসেছিল। মজার বেপার হলো তার সাথে শুধু ছিল তার একজন পিএস। তাও বিনা বেতনভোগী । ছিলনা কোনো দলীয় লোকজন। ছিলনা কোনো কেডার বাহিনী কিংবা চাটুকারের দল। আরো মজার বেপার হলো তাকে শুধু দেওয়া হযেছিল চা এবং একটা চায়ের প্লেটে শুধু ২টা বিস্কিট। আমিতো লজ্জায় অস্থির। লাইব্রেরি manager কে অনুরোধ করলাম কয়েকটা বিস্কিট বাড়িয়ে দেওয়া যায়না ? সে বলল এই মুহুর্তে তার কাছে নেই। সেও দোকান থেকে কিনে আনার বেপারেও তেমন আগ্রহী ও নয় । বললো আমায় Don't worry we are not obliged to do  this even he is our MP. তার মধ্যে কোনো ভয়ের চিহ্নও দেখলামনা। মনে মনে ভাবছিলাম আমার নিজ দেশ হলে আর এই এমপি যদি খুনী নুর হোসেন, শামিম ওসমান , হাজারী, ভিপি জয়নাল কিংবা আরো অনেক - নাম না হয় বললাম না। ভাবছি তারা হলে এই ম্যানেজার এর কি অবস্থা করতো। পেটোয়া বাহিনী কতৃক উত্তম মধ্যম, স্ট্যান্ড বদলি কিংবা ভিন্ন অজুহাতে চাটাই। এমপির সাথে ঘুরা ঘুরি করার লোকও নাই।  এমপিরা ও চায়না বেহুদা লোক নিয়ে ঘুরা ঘুরি কিংবা শো ডাউন করা আমার অনেক ভ্ক্ত   বা লোক আছে।  লন্ডনে যা বুজলাম জনগনের টাকা তাদের এবং তাদের অনুসারীদের খুশি করানোর জন্য খরচ করা হয়না। তাদের সাথে সব সময় পাঁচ দশজন লোক ও থাকেনা। যা কিছু হয় তা হলো গঠনমূলক। আমদের রাজনীতিক দলগুলো সবসময় একে অন্যর সমালোচনা নিয়ে ব্যস্ত থাকে। এই সমালোচনা খাজুরে সমালোচনা। কিভাবে দেশের অর্থনীতি সম্মৃদ্ব করা যাবে কিংবা সরকারের কোনো রাষ্ট্র নীতি নিয়ে তেমন কোনো আলোচনা কিংবা সমালোচনা তারা তেমন একটা করেনা। পারে শুধু কথায় কথায় হরতাল আর জালাও পোড়াও কর্মসূচী। আর সরকারী দল তো আছেই গায়ের জোরে তথাকতিত গণতন্ত্র প্রতিষ্ঠার চেষ্টা। চিন্তাও করেনা আসলে কি তারা ঠিক পথে এগুচ্ছে কিনা। আমি মনে করি আমাদের গণতন্ত্রের চর্চাকে আরো সঠিক ভাবে উপযোগী করে তুলতে হবে. একটি সুন্দর রাষ্ট্রের জন্য। একটি সুন্দর সমাজ ব্যবস্থার জন্য। আইনের শাসন প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য। পুজিবাদী, লুটেরা, মাফিয়া রাজনীতির কালো থাবা থেকে আমাদের গনতন্ত্রকে বাঁচাতে হবে। আমাদের নিজেদের প্রয়োজনে , আমাদের সুন্দর ভবিষতের জন্য। আমাদের আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য। দেশকে ভালবাসা ও কিন্তু সুখী হওয়ার অন্যতম নিয়ামক। যে দেশকে ভালবাসে সে নিসন্দেহে একজন সুখী মানুষ। আমি মনে করি অন্তত সে মনের দিক থেকে সুখী।
ভালো মানুষেরা যুগে যুগে ভালো কথায় বলে গেছেন কিন্তু চোরে না শুনে ধর্মের কাহিনী। তারপরও মানুষের সুখী হওয়ার প্রচেষ্টা যুগে যুগে থাকবে। নিজের জন্য , পরের জন্য- সবার জন্য।
Antony de Saint- Exupery এর সেই কথাটা এই মুহুর্তে মনে পড়ছে। তিনি বলেছেন - " Perhaps love is the process of my leading you gently bract to yourself. Not whom I want you to be, but to who you are."

দার্শনিক Bradfor Keeney মানুষের এই অবিকেশিত সর্তাকে, ভালো মানুষীটাকে তুলে ধরেছেন ঠিক এই ভাবে- There is a wick within you that is waiting to become the light of your soul. When this inner flame burns brightly you will feel a magnificent awakening in your life.

এই প্রক্রিয়াটাকে হেনরি ফেদ্রিক তুলে ধরেছেন এই ভাবে- "The process of life should be the birth of a soul. This is the highest alchemy, and this justifies our presence on earth. This is our calling and our virtue."

আমি নিজেও জানিনা কেন এই লেখা লিখছি? কিছুদিন আগে Dr Aminul Islam এর ফেস বুক ওয়ালের একটা লেখা কমেন্ট করেছিলাম এইভাবে যে আপনার প্রতিদিনের ভাল কথা গুলোর মধ্য একজন ভাল মানুষের প্রতিচ্ছবি দেখতে পাই। একটি সুন্দর বাংলাদেশের জন্য আপনি আমি সবাইকে প্রতিদিন এমন সুন্দর সুন্দর কথা লিখতে হবে । তাতে করে মানুষ উদ্বুদ্ধ হবে। মানুষ তার ভুল গুলো বুজতে পারবে। লজ্জা পাবে খারাপ কাজগুলোর কথা ভেবে। মানুষের বিবেক জাগ্রত হবে। তবেই স্মৃস্টি  হবেনা নুতুন কোনো কিলার রাজনীতিবিদ , দুর্নীতবাজ নেতা বা নেতার পুত্র। যেমন একজন যুবরাজ জনগনের টাকায়( লুটের) লন্ডনে সুখে জীবন যাপন করছেন।(সত্যিকারের সুখ নয়). হয়তবা কেউ একজন এই লেখা পড়ে জীবনের স্বরূপ খুঁজে পাবে। হয়তোবা কেউ একজন সুখের সন্ধানে মরিয়া হয়ে ভুলপথে ঘুরবেনা আর। হয়তবা খুঁজে নিবে তার আসল পথ - একটি সুন্দর জীবন এবং সেই জীবনের পথ। GATEWAYS TO A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.........................
Here are some thoughts and paths towards a beautiful life- "GATEWAYS TO A BEAUTIFUL LIFE "

• The main work of every human being is inner work. Each day, do something significant to deepen yourself. To have more of the life that you truly want, you must first become more of who you truly are.
• See your life as a fantastic growth school. Everything that you experience, both good and challenging, has come to you to teach you the lesson that you most needed to learn at that particular stage of your evolution as a person. Understand this truth, and keep asking yourself " what opportunity does this person or situation represent" regarding your personal growth. This is a great source of inner peace
• Be true to yourself- the best life is the authentic life. Never betray yourself. Take off your social mask and have the personal bravery to present the real you to the world. The world will be richer for it.
• Remember that we collect what we project. Our outer lives are nothing more than a mirror image of our inner lives. Pour light on your dark side. Become aware of the false assumptions, limiting beliefs and fears that are keeping you small, and your exterior world will change.
• We see the world not as it is but as we are. Know that the truth in any given circumstances is filtered through your personal stained glass window- your personal context. Clean up the windows, and you'll clean up your life. Then you will see the truth.
• Live in your heart- it wisdom never lies. Follow the quiet prompting of your heart, and you'll be led in the direction of your destiny.
• Stand in the curiosity of your life. In surrendering control. You'll create a space for possibilities to enter and treasure to flow.
• Care for yourself. Do something each day to nurture your mind, body and spirit. These are essential acts of self-respect and self-love.
• Build human connections. Dedicate yourself to deepening your bonds with the people around you. Focus on helping others achieve their dreams, and be more concerned with selfless service rather than self- gratification. You're here to enrich this world, and you betray yourself once you forget this truth.
• Leave a legacy. The deepest longing of the human heart is the need to live for a cause greater than oneself.

 সব কথার শেষ কথা হলো প্রতিটি জীবনই সুখের। জীবনকে অন্তরের ভিতরের সুন্দর চোখ দিয়ে দেখতে হবে। আমরা সবাই ভুল করি. তারপরও আমাদেরকে সেই সত্যকে খুঁজে নিতে হবে/ আমাদের জন্য, আমদের সুখী জীবনের জন্য, একটি সুখী সমাজের জন্য, একটি সুন্দর রাষ্ট্রের জন্য। যেখানে রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা থাকবেনা, থাকবেনা হত্যা, গুম কিংবা মুক্তিপণ আদায়ে অপহরণ, কিংবা যৌতুকের লোভে নারী নির্যাতন কিংবা শিশু ও নারী ধর্ষণ। আমি কোনো দার্শনিক নই, কিংবা মহামানব। আমি একজন সাধারণ মানুষ। আমদেরকে এই সহজ কথা গুলো ভাবতে হবে এবং অন্যকেও ভাবাতে হবে। একটা সমাজের পরিবর্তন এভাবে হবে যখন সবাই সুস্থ চিন্তা করবে। ভালো মানুষদের ভিড়ে দুষ্ট -খারাপ লোক্গুলু পালিয়ে যাবে, লজ্জা পাবে, ভয় পাবে অন্যায় করতে। আমরা সারা জীবন গুটি কতক খারাপ লোকের কাছে জিম্মি থাকতে পারিনা। আমাদের সুখ্গুলুকে এইভাবে তাদের জন্য ধবংস হতে দিতে পারিনা। The world is your and mine. Make it a better place you and for me. 

আমার কথা হলো ---------------- 

We have no choice of what colour we're born or who our parents are or whether we're rich or poor. What we do have is some choice over what we make of our lives once we're here.

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Live and let live. Give and take.

Bertrand Russell এর কথা দিয়ে আমর আলোচনা শেষ করছি- " those who live nobly even if in their life they live obscurely, need not fear that they will have lived in vain. Something radiates from their lives, some light that shows the way to their friends, theirs neighbours, perhaps to long future ages."

বিভিন্ন মনিষীদের রেফারেন্স টেনে কথা বললেও আসল সত্য হলো উপরের সব কথাই হলো ইসলামের মূল আহবান। মানবতার সেবার মধ্য দিয়ে মানুষের প্রকৃত সুখ। আমাদের রসুলের জীবনের মধ্য ও আমরা সেই সত্য টুকু দেখতে পাই। মাজে মধ্যে চেষ্টা করছি কিছু ভালো কথা লেখার জন্য। এটাই তারই একরকম প্রচেষ্টা। ইংলিশ -বাংলার সংমিশ্রনের কারণ হলো আমার সঙ্গী বিদেশী বন্ধুদের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা। যাতে করে তারা সমগ্র লেখাটা নিয়ে জানতে চাইবে ।তা ছাড়া বাংলা টাইপ এখনও ভালো করে রপ্ত করতে পারিনাই। টাইপিং [প্রভলেম এর কারণে অনেক বানান ভুল আছে।

অভিনন্দন বড় আপা তোমাকে। সুদুর প্রবাসে ও আমি আনন্দে আপ্লুত।  চট্টগ্রাম প্রেস ক্লাব এ গতকাল  'রত্নগর্ভা ' উপাধিতে সম্মানিত হয়েছ তুমি। তোমার এই অর্জন  আমাদের পরিবারের জন্য অনেক বড় সম্মান।  আজ থেকে দশ বছর আগে আমার প্রয়াত মা ও এখানে 'রত্নগর্ভা ' উপাধিতে সম্মানিত হয়েছিল। তুমি যোগ্য মায়ের যোগ্য কন্যা হিসেবে আমাদের ও গর্বিত করেছ। তোমার সাথে সাথে দুলাভাইকে ও অভিনন্দন । একজন সৎ ও আদর্শবান মুক্তিযোদ্ধা হিসেবে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনায় সন্তানদের সুশিক্ষিত করে গড়ে তুলেছেন।  খুব ভালো লাগে যখন সমাজ সৎ ও যোগ্য মানুষদের মূল্যায়ন করে।  আয়োজক সংগঠন এর কর্ণধার জনাব সিরাজুল করিম মানিক ভাইকে আমার সশ্রদ্ধ সালাম। তার মহতী এই কর্মকান্ড সুদীর্ঘ কাল ধরে অব্যাহত রাখার জন্য।

Why Bangladesh is unrest? Why the politics of Bangladesh is broken? 

(Personal opinion and thoughts)

So many questions have been banging inside my head since couple of months. What are the obstructions against establishing social justice, fairness, equality and human rights in Bangladesh? Why are we far from democracy? It is a big debate too -why? 

There is no denying that political situations in Bangladesh today are not the way they ought to be, let alone what they promised to be. After 43 years, people of Bangladesh are facing mortal challenges while they are remembering the supreme sacrifices and gallantry of the country's bravest and enlightened people but till now, is Bangladesh free from any blueprint? Secularism, democracy, scarcity of essential livelihoods, freedom of rights even tolerance, and communal harmony are being thrown overboard today. Country which follows a democracy form of government is yet in the hands of politicians and business syndicate groups. Political conflicts, inefficiency of local administration, taxation fraudulent, corruption at government levels, cartel of business syndicates are barricading the country from prospering ahead and achieve development as it was supposed to have. The malady of political instability has no easy way out of our society. Political instability is the greatest threat to the economy of Bangladesh. Dynastic politics, inadequacies of the constitution, mistrust among people, power hunger, etc. promoted political instability.

The nation who have battled against the discriminations, who fought against the injustice, who fought against the Pakistan government to gain their rights; why they are now unstable and disappointed? They fought for fairness and equality without compromise. Objectives were only to make Bangladesh prosperous, happy and rich. We all know our history of the liberation war. I don't want to repeat that long history again here. Just to remind our people that during the liberation war around three million people died. Hundreds of thousands brave freedom fighters sacrificed their life for the motherland. Why- because they loved the motherland. They had dreams and hope if the country become independent there will be no injustice, no discrimination, no poverty, and hunger. There will be no fighting with each other's, no fighting for the power, money and wealth. No corruption, looting and nicking of public money. There will be peace and happiness everywhere. It will be a peaceful, happy and prosperous green Bangladesh. Where everybody together with hand to hand, shoulders to shoulders will be engaged with love, dedication and patriotic spirits to build a new, happy and prosperous Bangladesh. Yes; I could see and felt those dreams were in their eyes that time. They forgot their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, fiancés or wives. Because to them sacrificing life for the motherland was sweeter than love of dearest one. They never dreamed to be an MP or Minister. They never thought about money or richness. They did not sacrifice their life either for Awami league nor BNP or any other parties. Their sacrifice was only for the motherland.

But what we can see now? Oppositions supporters are fighting for only to send their parties in the power. They are killing innocent people every day just for creating violence and threats to the government. They are destroying, damaging public and private properties; burning public transport and assets. Killing each other, robbing and nicking from innocent people. Sometimes killing for political conflict or local control of power or sometimes by jongibadi/terrorist attack in the name of religion. Making the country unrest as their objective is power. But the power for whom? Is it for the two big parties - Awami league or BNP? This political instability is probably a never ending problem for Bangladesh. In fact to my understanding politics today is just a business. In this business, one just uses the connections through abuse of power to achieve one's goal. Ethics and morality are underrated. As a result, we witness the reality of the tremendous decline of our ethics and morality. This instability of politics has imparted severe problems in the education system, economy and poverty reduction already. Moreover new problems like Jongibad, terrorism, moulobad spreading high all over the country. 

I have no idea how many people agree with present destructive political movement. My question to BNP who gave you the authority to collapse entire country by road barricades and strike for a long time? Who gave you authority to hostage the people only to fulfil your power dream? Are you representing the entire nation desires to do this? How many people gave you consents to do this? Is it the entire nation? Are you not committing offences by breaching fundamental rights of people by impeding to enjoy their life with peace and comfort due to your so called destructive political activities? Did you ask yourself ever this question? Are you doing politics for people or power? If for the people then why strike, destruction, violence, petrol bombing and killing every day hundreds of innocent persons. You are killing these people to make the country unrest. Your main objective is power not the development or nor the change of socio-economic conditions of the state. If you have any development plan and policy then why not you explaining to the nation. Last two years you have been doing movement for power not for country's development otherwise you will tell the nation what is your future planning for people if you be elected. Let people know how you want to change the conditions of people and problems of the country. Let people know what long terms plan you have to solve the unemployment, poverty, education and health sector developments and problems. That action and voice people want to see and hear from you. But all your efforts and time you have been spending since long for destroying the Awami league government. Same as well Awami league spending all their times destroying BNP and Jamath

Whereas you AL keep claiming that the present violent situations are because of continuous combating acts of vandalism and terrorism by the BNP. The opposition BNP accusing that government is trying to create a one-party state. Both sides have a point. People don't want to see and hear those anymore. You both parties wasting your time talking about against one another years long. Keep blaming one another for any killing or destruction happened. That is not our expectation from you. We voted you for development and to solve our problems. Why you two parties with the help of other aliens destroying democracy, our peace and happiness only because of your power greediness. If the politics is for people then please try to be fair and honest with the people. Don't do dirty politics with the people. People will not forgive you. Just remember father of the nation  has sacrificed entire of his life for the nation. As well, the late president Sohid Ziaur Rahman has sacrificed his life for the nation. Obviously they both have contributions to the country. I don't want to raise debate whose contributions was high. People will judge that. Whatever there wrong or right but they did well for the nation. We should not spend time debating who did well or wrong or whose contribution is high. One truth we should admit that the last couple of years Bangladesh has been doing well even though our political situation ls not good. That is a good sign for the economy. Obviously a big credit should go to the present government as at their tenure a lot of successes we have achieved. I think so indisputably it happened because of their sincere efforts and perfect policy at a right time. But still a lot of issues pending since a long time to solve as these are public demand in the interest of a true democracy.

My question to the ruling party and opposition who will bear the billions of BD Taka's economic loss due to the last couple of month strikes, road barricades, mass killings, arson attacks, violation and vandalising public properties for a demand of fair election under a neutral government? We should never support violation and destruction as a medium of the demand to force the government bound to accept the demand. I personally believe that is a complete wrong by opposition parties mainly BNP. I like to ask a question to BNP who gave you authority to do these types of politics. Do you represent 16 crore people?

At the same time, I will say to the government please be honest with the people. If you want true democracy and prosperous Bangladesh then immediately take actions to separate the judiciary, executive, and legislative body of the state from each other's. Give election commission full power and no control over them by the government. If you believe in fair democracy then you have to do it. We are fed up seeing argument with each other since long on these issues. Don't blame each other. This is easy and simple. Need only your honest intention, interest and proper initiative for the betterment of democracy and people. 

This is 21st Century. Whole over the world now the main priority by a state is the economy and economic development of their country. According to my understanding and opinion there should be no strike and road obstruction in the name of politics. We must find alternatives to strike-blockades in their present form in Bangladesh. The political parties have to find an alternative, non-intrusive means of expressing protest and disagreement in a democratic way. Unfortunately last couple of years strike, blockades, provocative and aggressive procession in the street ultimately leading towards the barbaric forms of protest like vandalism, public property damage, cocktail attack, arson attack on bus and people, destroying environment, burning public and private property, and so many ways of destruction that all hurts people’s fundamental human rights and causes pain, injuries and violence. Moreover, destroying peace and comfort of the citizen and overall the economy.To gather support for getting strike banished society’s leaders should hold debates, seminars and other forms of public awareness programmes. We will urge the BNP and its allies to abandon its blockade and strike programmes in the greater interest people and state economy. People have to pressure to the political party to band these destructive political weapons. This is no longer a suitable way of protest in the perspective of Bangladesh and also in the context of modern civilized and highly developed countries.

This is high time to ban all these destructive types of political weapons as these are a big obstruction for the economy of the state. No procession in the high street should be allowed. Street is for transport and walks not for the processions and demonstrations. All procession and demonstration should be held in a selected places and road. Now we have so many types of way to protest and concern the people about the government bad deeds. Just remember no dictator government ruled entire of their life. They will destroy history says that. So please do something for the nation. Declare a new fresh election under a neutral election commission and separate everything before election. You can take time, but there should be an election soon at least in the middle term because a big portion of people did not attend the last election. I will not tell whose fault it is. But for a real and fair democracy you have to ensure all parties attended the election. 

My appeal to the people please don't be blind. Say white if it is white and say black what is black. Don't be politically bias. Your identity is Bangladeshi, not AL, BNP or other parties. Please, come out from dangerous and wrong culture of politics. Otherwise, we will be destroyed. Dear citizen don't give any more chance to politicians to play with us. I know it is difficult, but someone has to show up and lead the nation to save from this dangerous dirty game. Time has come for all sensible Bangladeshis to become conscious enough from now on to join their hands and stand up together against the growing threat of intolerance and extremism before it becomes too powerful and devours us. In many ways, our people today are at a crossroads. They must be able to decide quickly and definitively whether they would remain on the path of the ideals generated by the liberation war or on the track of modernism and progress or roll back towards in a swamping obscurity.

We need to establish social justice, fairness and equality in every aspect of life of citizens. People's rights should be the priority. State will not be bias deciding equality and fairness. There will be no gender discrimination. Gender equality must be protected. There should be accountability. Politicians are not above the law. Government officials will not be above the law. Everywhere there should be proper practice of law. Rule of law should be practices everywhere. We should understand the true democracy upholds the civil liberty like basic human rights of its citizens as outlined in its laws, agreements or constitution. These rights include freedom of religion, freedom of speech, equal protection under the law, the right to a fair trial and a right to privacy without unwarranted intrusion by the government. Citizens also should have other rights, such as the right to an education, the right to assemble and the right to publish their opinions. Citizens should be protected from discrimination based on their sex, race, religion or a disability. Very interestingly in a true democracy rule of law is very important. Fundamental criteria’s of rule of law in a true democracy are that -

1. Law will protect the rights of citizens, maintains order, and limits the power of government. 

2. All citizens are equal under the law. No one may be discriminated against on the basis of their race, religion, ethnic group, or gender. 

3. No one may be arrested, imprisoned, or exiled arbitrarily. 

4. If you are detained, you have the right to know the charges against you, and to be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to the law. 

5. Anyone charged with a crime has the right to a fair, speedy, and public trial by an impartial court.

6. No one may be taxed or prosecuted except by a law established in advance. 

7. No one is above the law, not even a king or an elected president. 

8. The law is fairly, impartially, and consistently enforced, by courts that are independent of the other branches of government.

9. Torture and cruel and inhumane treatment are absolutely forbidden

10. The rule of law places limits on the power of government. No government official may violate these limits

11. No ruler, minister, or political party can tell a judge how to decide a case. 

12. Office holders cannot use their power to enrich themselves. Independent courts and commissions punish corruption, no matter who is guilty. 

The question- do we really practice the above principle as a democratic country? If not then why? What is the obstruction doing so? It is in fact kind of true that our policy makers are no longer in a position to offer and maintain a good government as they themselves is no longer good. Therefore, we are now dreaming about "Good Governance" without any clue on how to achieve it. Today we talk about good governance, but we do not really mean it or want it. It is just a bluff. Yes; to practice real democracy Election commission, Judiciary and police force should be separated from Executive part of the state immediately. Selection and appointment of these departments employee will be no longer under the control of politicians. Judges should be appointed on merit and reputation basis by a special committee which will be made with an honest, scholar, learned and experienced judges. Election commission employee will be selected by a special committee made with honest and reputed judges and government officials, educated, famous and neutral senior citizens. All above these organs of state will not have any relation with government. There should be another special committee who will monitor them. None of these committees selection will not have any influence and power from government. 

We need to follow the world developed countries those have a real practice of fair democracy like UK, USA, India or some European countries. Parliament will have the power over this committee but any decision against these organs must be disclosed to the public and should take public comments and scholar comments before any decision. Obviously cancelling any committee should be approved by parliament passed by two-third majority. Every person should be concerned and fair about social justice, fairness and equality in every aspect of social life. We should not be blind. We should not support if the party which we support do wrong and should not say they are correct even if they are wrong. Election commission will need to follow strong regulations. Should do neutral and fair practice and rule of law must be observed in every case.

This is the 21st century. Now it is everywhere priority is economical emancipation. Development of state should be the prime objective of all parties. Need to find out an alternate solution of protest. Now there is so many ways to spread out your message to the people. I think so e-petition is a good way to pressure government to discuss a issue in the parliament. If 200000 people signed a e-petition and submit it to the parliamentary committee then that issue should place before the parliament for open discussion. So people can protest this way against government any conflict and wrong which goes against the public interest. In that case no need to call strike or call for road barricade. If the parliament don't take the right decision because of a single majority then media can play a good role for public support and awareness. If the issue has public demand then it must send to the judicial committee for recommendation. So judicial committee which can take action if the government does anything against the public interest. They can force the government to take action except any law making or changing .

Politics should not be the profitable business. Politicians should not have so much power except law making and development. Example they should not have power to transfer or recruit of government employees. Anti-corruption department also should be separated from executive bodies. Should be powerful in reality. In any circumstances, politicians will not have any influence and power on any of the state organs and police department. 

If the political post is not profitable then there will be no abuse of power. There will be no investment of corrupt money in the politics because that money will not be covered if they elected. We must ensure the system of accountability of government officials and politicians. Every major financial expense should be disclosed half-yearly basis to the public. How the budget money invested for the development that should be disclosed at least half yearly basis. There should be independent audit commission. This independent audit commission will not have any control or influence by the government. Public should know how their money is utilizing. Should disclose half yearly basis the success and failure of commitment they promised before the election.

It is not a so easy matter but indeed it is possible. Before an election, every party should declared their manifesto and visions to the public if they elected what they will do. How they want to change life of people. In next election, they will have to clear how much they have done according to their manifesto. If not successful then need to explain why they couldn't be successful. Then people will decide which party will form next government. Every party should explain in their manifesto what they will do if they elected and how they will do. They have to define their vision for the future. 

No explanation or proof is needed to believe or accept the fact that we have failed as a nation over and over again. This leads us to believe that we must be doing things seriously wrong, and not learning anything from our mistakes. Nothing is new to us or to the politician. What is new is our thinking. We need to think in a new way because this era is very challenging. We don't have time to waste our time for chilly political issues. 

The present age is a digital age. Need to spread our spirit of our muktijuddo to the thoughts and feelings of each and every Bengali that we need to go forward. We have to balance with the advanced world. We cannot be backbencher any more. 16 crore people should be networked each other should hold the hand to hand, should stand shoulders to shoulders to protect them from wrong politicians, Against the wrong politics and to challenge the difficulties. The dream what our martyrs were seen we must fulfil their desires and dreams of happy Bangladesh. There should be no place for dirty politicians and power greedy political parties in the heart of people. Raise your voices and aware the people about your choices and aware the political parties what you want really. Don't give them any more chance to play with you only to serve their interest.

আর কতকাল ? 

প্রশ্ন নিজেকে আমার ?

ওরা বুঝেনা আইএস, তালিবান, -জঙ্গিবাদ , মৌলবাদ.. , নব্য সংস্কৃতি 

নিয়ে ভাবার সময় তোমার নেই ; 

বুঝেনা  তোমার পেটে ভাত নেই, দু মাসের বাড়ি ভাড়া এখনো বাকি 

বুঝেনা দু মাস ধরে তোমার চাকরি নেই 

বুঝেনা  তোমার শিশু সন্তানের বায়না  পূরণের মুরদ  নেই ....

নুন আনতে পান্তা ফুরায় -

কারণ তোমার যে চাকরি নেই...ব্যবসা নেই খেটে খাওয়ার সুযোগ নেই..

ওরা বুঝেনা কারণ তারা তোমার জন্য রাজনীতি করেনা। 

অভাগা জননী বঙ্গ আমার 

দংশিত হবে -ধর্ষিত হবে আর কতকাল ?

কবে তুমি পাবে ফিরে তোমার সৌর্য্য  হারানো অহংকার ?

ফিরে পাবে জনগণ তার ন্যয্য অধিকার 

আর কতকাল ?

চাই এক শোষণমুক্ত সমাজ 

দূর্নীত মুক্ত এক রাষ্ট্র 

আর পংকিলতা মুক্ত রাজনীতি  ..চাই অনেক কিছু চাই ?

কে দেবে আশীর্বাদ, কে হবে বিশ্বাস 

কে হবে মুক্তির দূত এই ক্ষণ সন্ধিক্ষণে ?

জেগে উঠো বাংলাদেশ !!

আর নয় কুলাঙ্গার, লুটেরা অর্থলোভী -ক্ষমতালোভী শাষক 

চাই এক সুখী বাংলার রূপকার ?

দেশ আমার , দেশ তোমার

আমরা এক - আমরা জনগণ

সুস্থ বাতাস, বিশুদ্ধ পানি, ন্যায্য শিক্ষা , নিরাপদ যোগাযোগ, ন্যায্য চিকিংসা   -

কে দিয়েছে ? কে দেবে ?

আসলে জীবনটা কি ?

শৈশবে এই পাথর খন্ডে বসে আমি সূর্যাস্ত দেখতাম 

দেখতাম পশ্চিমের লাল সূর্যটা কেমন করে টুপ করে লেকের পানিতে ডুব দেয়। 

লিখতাম কবিতা তোমাকে ভেবে, 

তুমি কে তা তো জানা হয়নি---?

আসলে তুমি ছিলে কল্পনার মোনালিসা। ..

আজ ছন্দ, তাল, লয় কিছুই  আসেনা , কলমও  চলেনা , 

কল্পনার ক্যানভাসে মোনালিসাও আঁকা  হয় না 

তাই কবিতাও আসেনা। 

সুখ কোথায়----অর্থ? প্রাচুর্য ? প্রতিপত্তি ? বিলাসিতা?
নাম ? যশ ?   কোথায়... কোথায় ?
কেও কি জানো ?

আমি সুখী হতে চাই 

দেবে কি আমায় একটু  সুখ !

আমি ফিরে যেতে চাই আমার নীড়ের কাছে 

যেখানে আমার মা -মাটি -আমার পূর্বসুরী 

সে কোন জনপদ ?

আসলে কি সুখ সেখানে ?

     I don't want to be that Charlie who create hate and bigotry in the name of freedom of speech. I  

     strongly support freedom of speech but that......

     Freedom speech does not mean that you are allowed to spread hate and bigotry....... 

     It should have some limit?

    In the matter of freedom of speech one rule for West and another for the Muslims that great 

    overarching cherished Western principle that Muslims didn't understand till to date. 

    I also strongly condemn 7 January 2015 massacred by two terrorists in Paris. They can't be       Muslim. They are not true Muslim. They are only terrorist whatever their belief is.

What is Charlie Hebdo?

Charlie Hebdo is a satirical magazine, published every Wednesday, that was founded in 1969, though it stopped publishing between 1981 and 1992. Known best for its illustrations and provocative imagery, the magazine aims to mock all forms of authority, from politicians to religion to the military. Its ideological roots are left-wing and atheist—with religion in all its forms a target. A number of times it published humiliating image of prophet with funny title. In its Dec. 20 edition, the newspaper published a cartoon of the Virgin Mary giving birth to a pig-faced Jesus.

What has Charlie Hebdo done to anger Muslims?

In 2006, the paper reprinted images of the Prophet Muhammad that had appeared in a Danish magazine a year before. The next year, it published a picture of Muhammad crying, with the tagline “It’s hard to be loved by idiots.” Many Muslims view visual depictions of Muhammad as provocative or even blasphemous. The Grand Mosque of Paris and the Union of Islamic Organizations of France, among other similar religious bodies, filed slander charges at the time. A French court cleared the paper. 

How was the magazine targeted in the past?

The magazine’s offices were set on fire by a Molotov cocktail in 2011 after it published a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad saying “100 lashes of the whip if you don’t die laughing.” The firebomb forced the publication to relocate to their current offices in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Editorial staff were often threatened: The magazine’s director, Stephane Charbonnier (better known to readers under his illustration pen name of Charb), had a bodyguard. A French man was arrested in 2012 after he called on a jihadist site to have Mr. Charbonnier decapitated. Mr. Charbonnier was among those killed Wednesday. 

What has the magazine published recently that might have provoked the attack? 

It’s unclear, though the magazine hasn't relented on its critiques of radical Islam. In the last edition, Charb drew a foreboding cartoon. Under a headline “Still no attacks in France,” he depicted a jihadist soldier carrying an AK-47 rifle saying, “Wait! We’ve got until the end of January to present our wishes.”

বরফ রাজার দেশে একদিন -

Some fabulous moments in Ice kingdom

বরফ যুগের সময়টা কিরকম ছিলো  প্রায় ভাবতে ইচ্ছে হয়। কেমন ছিল মানুষগুলো ? কেমন ছিল তাদের জীবন যাত্রা।  না আর ভাবাভাবি নয়; ঘুরে আসি বরফ রাজ্যে।  হা হা ! সত্যি সত্যি নয়; তবে মানুষের গড়া Ice Kngdom এ।  নুতন বছরকে স্বাগত জানানো হলো নুতন এক এডভেঞ্চার দিয়ে।  অবশ্যই ছেলে মেয়েদের খুশি করার জন্যই এ যাওয়া।  তবে ঠান্ডা কারে কয় বুজলাম আর শিখলাম।  বাইরে জিরো ডিগ্রী আর বরফ রাজ্যে মাইনাস ১৬/২০ ডিগ্রী।  এডভেঞ্চার পেতে হলে একটু কষ্ট  তো হবেই।  তবে এটা ঠিক অন্তত সাইবেরিয়া কিংবা আইস ল্যান্ড  এ বেড়াতে  গেলে টিকে থাকতে পারব এই আস্থা অর্জিত  হয়েছে এই  এডভেঞ্চার এর  মধ্য দিয়ে।   অনেকদিন ধরে ফেসবুকে আসা হয় না।  লিখিও কম।  আসলে মন ভালো নেই।  সে অনেক কারণ। তাই একটু মন ভালো করার চেষ্টা মাত্র। ফেবু বন্ধুরা মনে হয় আমাকে ভুলেই গেছে ?  তাই একটু রস দিয়ে লিখলাম। বরফ রাজ্যর কিছু ছবি স্বপরিবারে -

আমার ছেলে।  ড্রাগন তার খুব পছন্দ।  ড্রাগন এর গেমস গুলু তার খুব প্রিয়।
